History

R.J. DEL PAN & CO., INC. was incorporated in the Philippines in 1949, by Rafael J. Del Pan, the Port Engineer for the Manila port rehabilitation after World War II. The firm was established to offer services as marine and cargo surveyors and consulting and supervising engineers. In 1949, a branch office was set up in Cebu. In 1954, a branch was also set up in Iloilo and in Bacolod. In 1954, the Cebu branch was incorporated as a subsidiary company and in 1963, R.J. Del Pan Sureng, Inc. was established in Bacolod with Iloilo as its branch office. R.J. Del Pan Mindanao Surveyors, Inc. was incorporated in 1971 with Davao as its head office. In March 1977, R.J. Del Pan (Cebu) Inc. established a field office in Iligan. Aside from local offices, a subsidiary company, R.J. Del Pan (Hong Kong) Ltd.was also established in Hong Kong in 1963. R.J. Del Pan & Co., Inc. maintains an office in Singapore and has correspondents and agreements with other established and reliable surveying firms in ASIA, EUROPE, U.S.A. and at all major ports worldwide.

SCOPE OF BUSINESS

R.J. DEL PAN & CO., INC. was organized as an independent third party consulting and surveying company. The Company and its subsidiaries and associates are completely independent and owned by individual stockholders without any connection of the firms or entities, which may constitute a conflict of interest. The primary functions of DELPAN companies are in the field of marine and ship surveys, cargo and commodity surveys, consulting engineering, inspection and testing of all commodities and materials. All offices are staffed with qualified Mechanical Engineers, Marine Engineers, experienced Marine and Cargo Surveyors and competent Inspectors.
R.J. DEL PAN & CO., INC. maintains ISO 9001-2000 Certification of its quality management system with Certificate Number CIP/1172/98/09/109 with Certification International.

From headquarters in Manila all business activities are coordinated with Area managers throughout the Philippines and at oversea offices. Utilizing DEL PAN correspondents at the request of clients.
The Marine Survey and Consulting Engineering activity undertaken by the DEL PAN Group covers all types of vessels and floating craft, pier and terminal facilities, bulk liquid storage tanks, machinery and equipment and appraisals. The primary Commodities/Products surveyed/inspected by the DEL PAN Group are as follows: Sugar & Molasses, Copra & By-products, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil & Oilseed Products, Tallow & Animal By-products, Cement, Coal, Ores & Concentrates, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Crude oil, Lube Oil & Additives, Wheat & Grains, Soybeans, Feeds, General Cargo, Freight Containers, Machinery & Plant, Steel Products, Fertilizers, Plywood & Lumber, Refrigerated Cargo, Garments, Electronic Products, Handicrafts, Foodstuffs and Other Consumer Goods. Weigh Scale Calibrations and Hydrographic Surveys are undertaken in aid of maritime commerce.
