CHARTER REGISTRY FOR BELIZE

Vessels that are under bareboat charter may be registered under the Belize Flag by submitting a notarized copy of the charter contract in addition to the regular documents required for registration. IMMARBE will issue a special navigation license and radio station license to the vessel which is valid for one year and is extendable for like periods.

Vessels already registered under the Belize Flag may, in order to comply with the terms of a charter contract, obtain a Second Registry without cancelling the Belize Registration. The applicant must provide a notarized copy of the charter contract. The vessel will be authorized to register at a Second Registry for a period of two years which may be extended. Schedule of Fees.

During the period of second registry the vessel will continue to pay all required annual payments and fees to IMMARBE as the main registry. Any mortgages or encumbrances on the vessel shall be exclusively registered with IMMARBE.
