CURRENT
REGISTRY REGULATIONS FOR BELIZE
The GMDSS requirements for vessels to which SOLAS Convention applies
for cargo vessels of 300GRT and upwards, have entered into force
on February 1, 1999 and:
- registration
documents of the above vessels have to reflect the description
of the new radio equipment installed. To accredit compliance
any of the following is required:
- A
copy of the Record of Equipment for GMDSS ships (which is
an annex to the Safety Radio Certificate), or
- A
copy of the Safety Radio certificate accompanied with a
description (maker, type, location) of the new equipment
installed.
- subject
vessels which are not in compliance shall not trade.
No extensions will be granted by IMMARBE.
- All
vessels trading without compliance of the GMDSS requirements
are likely to be denied by Port State Authorities with the consequent
negative records against the flag for which reason, upon
detention, Belize flag vessels are going to be penalized
by IMMARBE.
